Merisier, our mother company, is a B2B2C company based in Berlin. They have been working on various project types with Daimler, Vodafone, etc. Still, their main product is Gifting Service.
As part of a fulfillment process, Merisier needs to update their Stock Management System and redesign the current interface for better usage, using this as an opportunity to improve their working pace and avoid human errors.

Having our main users in Berlin, we still be able to reach out to them often through Slack or video calls. We investigated bugs and frozen features on the current version. We answered their questions and figured out the way to solve current problems, gained insights on their needs to help shape the solution.

Get the right data fast
It’s important for all the staffs to be able to skim fast, spot out quickly which products are almost out of stock or reach expiration date or still in stock.
Get the right data will also help the business team analyzes and plan for their following supply orders.
Using without much support
The workload is a lot for a small start-up so the product shouldn’t give them any more frustration, especially while the technical team isn’t available due to different timezone.

Supplier & Purchasing
As a private gifting service, Merisier has to work with many suppliers and keeps track on them in order to restock their products.
With Supplier Details, the team can save the suplier information. Besides, they can know what are the products the suppliers are prodviding, includes the products status in Merisier's warehouse.
After getting all the essential information from the Suppliers, the team will create a Purchase Order with all the products which are needed to be restocked. Plus, the team can track the quantity and delivery time from their suppliers.
Fulfillment Process
To complete fulfillment, from packing to shipping a gift box to the customers, the team needs an Order Details view.
Merisier team will use this to check the address, all the products of the bundle to take from the warehouse, directly register a shipment code from DHL and print that sticker to stick on the box for delivery.
Last but not least, with all the returned orders, the old and new shipping addresses will also be stored and updated in this view.
Error Handlings
Errors will always happen and we cannot cover it 100% in advance. Therefore, we try to notify and explain the technical messages in an understandable language as much as possible.
In order to prevent the repeating errors, we have documents called Post Mortem. This is to record and specify the problems and our solutions.
Product Overview
Product Table is one of the most used view by the Manager. This table gives an overview for all the product types, companies, status, suppliers, quantity and even charts to help predicting the future quantity needed. From this view, the team can also directly create a new product from a campaign or else.
learning
Personally, what I picked up after this project is that designing bases on data was quite difficult at first, especially when the data mixed up between different types. Also, I realize it is essential to have clear error handling validation and messages in designing management system.
